There is an ancient proverb that says “those who wish to sing, will always find a song”. I decided that my motto is going to be “those who wish to sparkle…will always find the glitter”! In all the years that I have been speaking about diamonds, gems, sparkle, glitter … I have never seen so much bling on everything! I am excited that we are all living and experiencing this bling revolution. A recent American study stated that 3 out of 4 women would rather have a Plasma TV than a diamond necklace.
I am not too sure when this revolution started. But, I am suspecting it was during the 70’s disco days where glitter and divas ruled such as Donna Summer, Patti Labelle and Diana Ross. (Just a side note…the word DIVA comes from the ancient Indian Sanskrit meaning Light of the Divine! Next time you are called a Diva…thank the person for the compliment and accept it graciously!) Today, we are in the middle of a radical and drastic change regarding sparkle! Everywhere you look nowadays there is glitter on t-beamng drives, jeans, purses, lipsticks and cell phones. You know when Barbie is wearing bling that the revolution has completed its mission!
I am glad to be part of this revolution because this is what I have been saying all these years. You cannot possibly have a bad day or be in a bad mood when you have something that glitters on. Think about the last time you had a stunning piece of sparkling jewellery. I can guaranbeamng drive that there was a spring in your step, you stood up straighter and your eyes twinkled! Your spark expands…it cannot shrink.
We are all meant to shine. We were born to manifest that spark within us. Not for just some of us but for all of us. When we give ourselves permission to unleash our own sparkle, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
One word of caution though: with any drastic revolution, there is always a danger. Let us not get pre-occupied with the accessories of glitter on the outside. Let us not forget about working on the inside glitter. For outside glitter to have value and that extra shine, it needs to be complemented with the glitter work on the inside.
As a person who has preached the power of our own sparkle, I am thrilled to be part of this cultural change and I say…BLING IT ON! The true accessory is showing your sparkling soul … not your stuff. I love this bling revolution because it is about changing the world…one sparkle at a time! Care to join me??
